Maren-MAR 2621

Maren grew up in Germany and studied marine biology, zoology and ecology at Bremen and Sydney and did her field work for her diploma thesis in Wales. Maren now works as an environmental consultant to the offshore industry, where her work focussing on marine mammals takes her to the North Sea, the north-east Atlantic, West Africa and the Indian Ocean. During her travels Maren was bitten by the Africa Bug, and has become especially fascinated by all things pachyderm.

Mick---MAR 5867

Mick has been fascinated by wildlife since childhood. His work in nature conservation has been varied and includes surveys of grey seals, breeding seabirds, harbour porpoises and bottlenose dolphins. The one theme that connects them all is the ocean. Favourite pastimes include messing about in small boats, snorkelling and fishing. An unfortunate ability with computers means that Mick spends far too much time dealing with data, rather than being out there collecting it! Escapes from the desk are frequently planned via the overland route…
